Will Bibinagar NIMS Project be Sold Away?

Most probably the 200 crore Bibinagar Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences will be sold off by the government, suggest the recent activities that took place in Bibinagar NIMS. It is said, secret negotiations are going on between the government and a corporate hospital.

While the 200-bed Nims Accident (Trauma) and Emergency Hospital at Banjara Hills couldn’t be started due to a shortage of 75 crore, and the government is planning to sell off the entire integrated tertiary hospital and medical college at Bibinagar to a corporate hospital in LB Nagar. Senior administration of the said hospital has even visited the 161-acre Bibinagar campus in Nalgonda more than once, say the sources.
Meanwhile, referring to the project being sold to a private party, a top government official said on condition of anonymity, “Its possible that such things may be going on. There are also other options which the government might be considering. For instance, it may ask the Central government to take it over and build an institute of excellence like AIIMS. A joint-venture super-specialty health city is another proposition. Or the state government might sell off part of the land and make the existing hospital building functional.”
